Earthquake is the most serious paroxysmal natural disaster for people. It's urgent to take economical and effective measurement in improving the aseismatic capability of building which have been built or will be built, especially for our country, a LDC where earthquake is frequent. The passive energy dissipation systems, which developed in these thirty years, is one of the practical measurements which are up to the mustard.Although the study of passive energy dissipation systems had much achievement in both theory and experimentation, there is some distance for application. The main reason is empty of simple, precise and apt to accept by engineer. The mode superposition method, based on equivalent linearization and forcing decoupling method of non-classical damping matrix of energy dissipation systems, is the just one. At the same time, iterative process will increase computing workload and forcing decoupling method increase error. For improving these disadvantage, the main work have done in this paper as follows:i. The perturbation method which meet with energy dissipation systems are educe by ignoring additive mass of energy dissipation device, and advance iterative speed;ii. The first-order perturbation method correct for forcing decoupling method based on perturbation theory is put forward to decrease error;iii. The complex modal method is introduced into analysis of non-classical damping systems to eliminate error of forcing decoupling method, and improve the complex modal response spectrum, which can apply to design of non-classical damping systems;iv. For exerting the energy dissipation capability of each device, a two-step optimum method, whose controlling function is extremum expectation of interbedded displacement, is put forward to optimize the number and position of device;v. The problem of iterative method applied to analyze energy dissipation systems is indicate, and give some primary advice based on pilot study.
