| Nowadays, the competitive focus of products is concentrated not only on product innovation, but also on the rapid ability responding to the market changes. So, we need to improve product innovation ability. On the other hand, we also need to improve the automation level of product design to accelerate the product development process to cater for the need of economic development.In view of the above, the following work is carried out in this paper.The current researches and their tendency of the theory on design catalogue and case-based reasoning in China and foreign countries are analyzed. The importance and difficulty of the research on the theory are also illustrated.The two strategies of the knowledge representation mode of design catalogues and case-based reasoning method are discussed, and then the strategy of their integration is given, which are all then introduced. Finally, the general procedure of design is presented using the method.The solution of an automated timber machining machine is developed to verify the design model. The key components of the solution are analyzed by the mathematical modeling, and its possibility is verified by the product manufacturing.The sources and updating mechanisms of design knowledge in the design catalogues and case-based reasoning process are discussed. The integrated method between the design catalogue, case-based reasoning and net-based design is studied. And then a collaborative design model based on them is presented in the Internet environment. |
