The strength and stability of the embankment are the bases to assure the stability of the embankment and the important basis to decide the structural type and design thickness of road surface. Therefore it is the crucial problem in highway construction to handle and stabilize embankment. According to the structural property of loess and collapsible loess, the thesis has made further analysis of several consolidating methods for embankment by the project. The thesis makes analysis of the testing result by the example of the section Tianshui-Maying of the Tianshui- Chankou highway project. In this test section: Taking the dynamic consolidation method reduces the apeture ratio, the coefficient of settlement of loess and the coefficient of infiltration. In this thesis, we draw the curve of standard penetration frequency-depth and make a conclusion that it is effective to handle the settlement of loess and raise the load bearing capacity utilizing dynamic consolidation method; Taking grouting stabilization improves the mechanics intensity and deformed module and strengthens re-infiltrationcapability. The thesis systematically analyses the result by dynamic sounding test, waviness velocity test and static-loading test; Taking Vibro-densification stabilizes embankment by elastic wave transmitting energy to embankment. The thesis systematically . analyses the microstructure property of loess through the earth test and quantitatively analyses the changing law of the microstructure of earth according to the squeezing frequency. Further analysis the result and test methods of the Vibro-densification.
