Deep foundation pit engineering under soft soil is one of hot and difficult point problem of rock soil engineering.How effectively control deformation of foundation pi and make foundation pit engineering safe and economical, is the task that people always probe. Deformation for retaining structure of foundation pit is the important factor on effect of deformation of foundation pit. This paper adopts the Ducon-zhang soil model, establish a non-linear elastic model of retaining structure of deep foundation pit, and draw up a plane finite element program. A deep foundation pit engineering in Shanghai is adopted as an example. The factors of design, construction and nature environment on effect of internal force and deformation for a retaining structure are studied in detail through the example. These factors include the rigidity of retaining wall, rigidity and site of support rod, space-time effect of pit excavation, water environment of foundation pit etc. Some useful conclusions of controlling deformation of foundation pit are obtained through the study. It can be used for the design and construction reference.
