Arch bridge is an important bridge style of bridge constructions in our country .With increase span of arch bridge, how to consider the effect of nonlinear problem on the internal force concretely becomes urgent.In general, the internal force was gained through a moment magnifier, which time the results from the elastic theory. Nevertheless, this coefficient tends to conservate. For the more precise calculation of internal force, this paper made a special analysis on reinforced concrete arch bridge and discussed on moment magnifier according to the factors of arch bridge themselves.Firstly, this paper introduced the research on the moment magnifier home and abroad and also its application in 《Bridge Code》 in China Roads. Secondly, it discussed the deflection in stability of arch bridge and geometry nonlinear theory on ultimate load-carrying ability. And at last, utilizing software ANSYS, I computed the internal force separately of 60m , 80m, 100m arch bridge, achieved a theoretical result of moment magnifier coefficients and then compared them with moment magnifier coefficients from 《Bridge Code》 in China Roads.This paper also accumulates the experience for further study of moment magnifier.
