The decrease of the energy and the pollution of the environment have been the two serious problems of the world . Among their solutions is the engine fuelled with alternative fuels, which has advantages of both high thermal efficiency and low exhaust emissions and will be most competitive in the next decades. The characteristics of LPG have been introduced in this paper, a novel fuel-supplied system designed and the experiments of the combustion and emission characteristic of the LPG/Diesel Dual Fuel Engine carried out in the engine bench. A simulation of the generation of the NOX has been done on the base of the novel model of the combustion theory of the swirl chamber, which has been established in this paper. The results of the experiments has shown: the LPG/Diesel Dual Fuel Engine has kept its high power performance and reduced its emissions, especially the soot and NOX after the fuel-supplied system has been set up; the fuel economy performance has been improved at some degree when high load; however, when LPG ratio increased, the engine showed the trend of violence for high compression ratio. The result of the simulation showed the novel combustion model had reflected the practical working process very well. The study proved that in order to get better power and emission performance, the LPG ratio should be controlled between 40 and 50 percent and the structure and working parameters should be optimized; However, LPG should be fueled as less as possible when low load. |
