Nowadays, the bridges are in wide use in China, many new types of bridges such as large span bridges, cloverleaf junction and complicated viaducts emerge. Dynamic and static tests are needed in order that the construction characteristics and forced conditions must qualify for the requirement of designing standard and safe run, at the same time, the test can give a reference of the bridge designing.Purpose of this paper is to test whether a prestress continuous box girder bridge qualifys for the safe property in Wuhan city, then provides scientific data for the subsequent run.The load test scheme is designed according to the initial data of the designing and construction. Some following conclusions are drawn through the test results combined with finite element analysis.1. The load transverse distribution coefficient of test is in coincidence with the calculating hypothesis. Prestress is linear distribution along the section height. The deformation of the section is according with the plane hypothesis. In comparison with the design value, the actual force and deformation are less than design value, the bridge is safe.2. The load transverse distribution coefficient is homogeneous, which shows the whole forced condition is good. The results of finite element calculating are near to the test results, which accounts for the feasible test scheme and the test data.3. The dynamic conclusion is same to the static conclusion, further more, it corresponds with the fact.4. It is shown from the dynamic test results that the effects are different at the different places with the same load, the impact changes with the different velocity of the truck, which affects the deflection of the bridge.5. The bridge with box section possesses a better construction characteristicssuch as higher torsional rigidity and the better force property.6. The accumulation of the measured impact coefficient can promote the adoption of the design impact coefficient, which is the basis of the safe run and test of the bridge. The test results of this paper can give a reference of the compact coefficient design.
