Abstract/Summary:
Smart/Intelligent structures and systems is a new integrated subject with many subjects intersected.Since the 80 of this century,it is widely used in many fields especially in high-tech fields such as aviation and astronaut,because of it has function of self-diagnosis,self-renovation,self-adaption and so on. So shape memory alloy(SMA) as one kind of smart/intelligent materials and systems is very promising.The dynamic model of a hybrid composite beam vibration control using shape memory alloy(SMA) is analyzed. Semi-active control method is used here to control the free vibration frequency on the basis of this model.First,the one-dimensional SMA constitutive equation is beingset up. The SMA fibers are used as actuators,which are capable of changing their elastic modulus and recovery stress,thus changing the natural frequency of the vibrating beam.Second,the vibration equation of SMA hybrid composite beam is being built using the multi-cell model.At the same time, The effects of SMA fiber volume ratio,fiber orientation and transverse shear deformation are investigated.Semi-active control can reduce the response of the construction being controlled by changing the parameter of it.According to the switch control theory,the control law can be settled and then the semi-active control simulation results can be got. The numerical results show that the semi-active control is an effective way to SMA fiber composite and is more convenient than active control.
