The paper focuses on the research of abnormal frame joints that occur in the structure of power plants. The research mainly includes such contents as below:1. the possible affection of the changes of beam sections which are adjacent to joints on the anti-shear properties of the core of the joints.2. the possible affection of the changes of column sections which are adjacent to joints on the anti-shear properties of the core of the joints.3. the possible affection of the changes of the axial compressive ratio on the anti-shear properties of the core of the joints.4. the possible affection of high-strength concrete on the anti-shear properties of the core of the joints.According to the analyses of the tests data and working mechanism of abnormal joints, the paper first proposes that the anti-crack properties and bearing capacities of abnormal joints are mostly dependent on the minor core of the abnormal joints, that is, the section areas and the reinforcement. The paper also analyzes the affection of axial forces on the anti-shear properties of the joints by contrast, discusses the degree of the affection of stirrups on the anti-shear properties of the joints, and puts forward with the calculating equations of anti-crack capacity and bearing capacity, in the hope of supplying and improving the codes in the part of joints.
