The status analyzing of water-distribution networks is based on the known pressure and quantity of water sources. The aid is to deduce all of the node hydraulic pressures and the pipe runoffs through part of the node hydraulic pressures and the pipe runoffs' measuring quantity. So we can grasp the work condition of the networks and solve the abnormal problems, furthermore, it can provide credible foundation to attempter optimization and enlarge, rectify the networks.Firstly, this paper expatiates the content and sense of the status analyzing of water distribution networks. Secondly it introduces Genetic Arithmetic(GA) and General Reduced Gradient method(GRG), and these two methods both have superiority and limitation. Afterwards, a Hybrid Genetic Arithmetic(HGA) is put forward, which composes GRG and GA. Its mathematical model, the method of realizing, and the method of determining the important parameters are all introduced in this paper. After testifying this new method's feasibility by using it in a simple water-distribution network, we analyze the status of the network around the new railway station in a city and get preferable result.
