With the theoretical and technologic development and the application of composite foundation,there are many varieties with the types of composite foundation,many new types of composite foundation have been put into design and construction. The long-short -pile composite foundation is one of them.Firstly,the general developing situation and basic theory of composite foundation are summarized in this paper,and the research production in long-short-pile composite foundation is specially introduced.Secondly,based on the analyses done with ANSYS5.7 FEM program,the author analyzes bearing capacity and settlement character of long-short-pile composite foundation,and studies the load-transfer and the distribution pattern of the additional stress of long pile and short pile,and researches the primary parameters' effect to the whole performance of the long-short-pile composite foundation in the aspect of bearing capacity and settlement;moreover,the author specially introduces the effect of the cushion.Thirdly,on the basis of synthesis analysis,it is the model and methods of bearing capacity and settlement that have been proposed,and it is convenient that it been put into practice.Finally,an engineering case is analyzed,the theoretical calculation results are compared with the monitor in site,the close results are showed to testify the applicability of the long-short-pile composite foundation,and have important engineering value in further analysis and application to the long-short-pile composite foundation.
