In this paper, the influence of chemical deposition Cobalt film alloy subjoining Rare Earth film were investigated to improve deposition technology, structure and properties of Cobalt soft magnetic film alloy. First the baths of chemical deposition Co-B and Co-Ni-P film was investigated using perpendicular method. Then the influence of Rare Earth was studied. It has been found that the unique 4f electronic structure of RE greatly affected the properties. But variant Rare Earth element has different affections on the baths. The subjoining of rare earth enhanced the deposition rate and stability of baths. The cohesion of the matrix and the film and the surface quality are also improved. But the Y element has less improvement result on the deposition rate. RE also enhanced the deposition potential, polarizability and cathode overpotential of the baths, changed the result of chemical deposition reactions and actuate the deposit of Cobalt alloy. And the chemical deposit Co-B-RE, Co-Ni-P-RE alloy include RE which electrode potential is much more negative was obtained. The structure of Co-B-RE was composed of microcrystal. The structure of Co-Ni-P-Ce was found to be amorphous. The Co-Ni-P-Ce film have distinct TEM modality among which regular collocation sphericily grain was found. The result shows RE element could greatly meliorate the properties of Co-B film such as micro rifidity and soft magnetic properties.
