The crankshaft works on the complicated and badly conditions, endured the great mechanical and heat burthen. It is difficult to design .in order to ensure its safety when in running, we must analyze and work out its distortion and stress.In order to solve the problem mentioned above, this paper analyses the crankshaft stress and distortion on the static burden by the finite element method. On the base of static analysis, This paper researches its structure intensity on dynamic burden.Under the variable gas pressure and inertial force which is arose by the rotary movement, the crankshaft is twisted and distorted. In this paper, the stress and distortion under the maximal explosive pressure are examined by the static finite element method. Finally the maximal stress and distortion are researched, so the part where is easily destroyed is found out.The static design can not satisfy the rigorous requirement of vibration, noise etc, so a dynamic stiff and strength analysis is used. In this paper, several main steps of dynamic design, such as model set up, test modal analysis and FE model analysis and dynamic modifying are discussed for the crankshaft.The fatigue strength is worked out on the basis of the static design. First, the fatigue character of the crankshaft is analyzed. Then, the fatigue life is worked out.In order to satisfy the project requirement, the solid model which is designed by the CAD system must be converted to two dimensions drawings. This paper converts the three dimension crankshaft to two dimension drawings by I-DEAS system.
