Test And Study On Impermeability For Poured Asphaltic Concrete Core

Since 1970 's, ten and more Poured Asphaltic concrete core Rockfill Dams (PCRD) have been built in the northeren region of China. At present, the design method, construction technique and equipment has been significantly improved for the PCRD , since much test and study on its material and structural features has been done. But for the Poured Asphaltic Concrete (PAC), it is only in the testing stage and lacks systematic a anlyses and prototype observations. With the project performance this article introduces some -works on PAC under the following aspects:---Advantages of PCRD construction in the cold district, Moredurability, reliability and crack resistance of the PAC core than concrete facing slab;---Mix design, criteria of material selection, relationshipbetween aggregate segregation and mix proportion;---Test and study on deformation and strength of the PAC.Analysis of creep behaviour of the PAC.
