In this experiment, ten beams have been cast. Among them, four RC beams for contrasting are not strengthened, four RC beams strengthened by gluing steels suffer loading directly, and two RC beams suffer loading to crack and then continue to be put out loading after being strengthened by gluing steels, then the experiments of capability of bearing bending are carried out on them respectively. By the observation and analysis to the bearing function and break appearance of the RC beams with different forms in the experiment, and with theories of RC beams and strengthening by gluing steels, the most emphasis is placed on the three problems such as the capability of bearing bending, the classification and mechanism of the premature failure, and the rigidity and deflection under short-dated loading.The results of the bearing bending experiment show that the steel plates can be combined with original beams by the construction gum, which makes the steel plates bearing bending together with original beams. At the same time the gluing steel plates enclose tensed concrete, improve the capability of resisting tension and limit the crack in the concrete. Therefore, the method of gluing steel plates improves not only the extreme capability of bending, but also enhances the crack resistance and the rigidity of beams, raises the capability of resistance to deflection. But because there are shearing stress and removing stress on the gluing plane between the steel plates and concrete, the phenomenon of premature removing of the steel plates in the strengthen beams is easy to take place. When the failure taking place, the strength of steel plates has not been fully used, it belongs to brittle failure and must be overcome with reasonably measure.With the theoretical analysis of beams strengthened by gluing steel plates, this thesis propose the formulas to calculate the capability of bearing bending under different forms of loading, and the worth of the common function coefficient of steel plates is suggested. At the same time, the concept of premature failure and the standard of failure are brought up. Finally, the referencing formulas to calculate the rigidity and deflection of beams strengthen by gluing steel plates are proposed, and the calculating results cohere to the experimental results well.
