The connection is an important and complicated content in the steel frame design. It has more important effect on the whole frame behavior for the connection to be reliable and effective. So the workable character of connection has been paid attention to and been a attracting subject by both domestic and foreign studier. Bolted end-plate connection is one type of the connection in common use in steel frame. Some methods that connection behavior and effect ion of connection stiffen on steel frame are studied systematically by the study methods using are also used for this reference.First, in this article, some typical end-plate connections are presented and analyzed. Connections behaviors are discussed in theory analysis.Second, the rigidity factors of several common typical connections are drawn out. The rigidity factors are easier for steel frame design.Third, considering the character of semi-rigid frame, the program XJX. Has been made for analyzing semi-rigid frame and some instances are been analyzed. From the conclusion some effect ion factors are derived on the whole steel frame.Last, from the above analysis and conclusions some reasonable ^ economic practicable types of connections > frame constructing and common design methods are proposed in design practice.
