| It has more than 20 years that the institution of loaning for building road and repaying with collecting toll fees has been putting into practice in China. This institution rapidly promoted the development of high-class road especially freeway in our country. A corresponding system of collecting toll fees must be constructed during a toll-road was built. The main component of collecting toll fees system is toll-gate. The scale of toll-gate and the number of toll-lane have definitively effect to earlier construction investment and configuration of worker in operation. Then traffic volume, capacity of a toll-lane, and level of serve determine the scale of toll-gate and the number of toll-lane. The capacity and LOS of toll-gate are the theory base of building the appropriate scale of freeway toll-gate, and are the base of effectively using limited capital of road building. Hereby, studying on capacity of toll-lane in different traffic volume and different LOS has very important economic signification.On the basis of analysising the history of research on freeway toll-gate capacity in the world, in this paper, the traffic flow characters of freeway toll-gate were reasoningly analyzed in Beijing, and then, the methods and steps were fixed. Firs, sever time was divided into two parts: pure sever time and away-time, according to different mission in sever process. Second, due to idiographic instance of toll-gate in Beijing local, data colleting project for researching on capacity of freeway toll-gate was established, and then, mass field toll-gate traffic data were surveyed, the data contain all types of toll-gate in Beijing local. Third, after field data were analysised, all operation method of toll-gate were mastered in Beijing local, operation rule of toll-gate were knew, up-flow headway distributing, sever time and away-time distributing of different type vehicle and different type toll-gate were calculated. Some type toll-gate with same characters were united. Based on the sever time and away-time, the PCE of different type vehicle were calculated too. At last, using M/G/K queuing model, the base capacity of different type toll-lane were calculated, the number of average queuing vehicle were used to evaluate the LOS of toll-gate. And then, the LOS of toll-gate were divided into 4 class, the capacity of every LOS class were calculated. |
