The thesis is based on the research of the technology of parametric modeling and CAD on operator of hydraulic excavator, pointing out some uncompleted aspects in parametric modeling for hydraulic excavator. The work is also a part of the project called "Research on theories, methods and techniques of mechanical system Generalized Optimization" which is supported by National Natural Science Foundation. The mam work that has been done in this thesis is as following:Establishing the parametric entity model of the operator of the hydraulic excavator after analyzing the constraints and dimension-parameters. Establishing the communication between the entity model and the output of the generalized optimization system so that the output can be used to drive the model. Linking machine design to the generalized optimization system so as to provide possibilities to realize design of series products quickly.According to the needs of practical producing, advancing the concept of flexible parametric design with the methods of range analyzing adopted. Analyzing similarities and differences among series design, parametric design and flexible parametric design to get basic realization strategy of flexible parametric design. Finally, establishing flexible parametric model with the model of operator as a sample. With the development of Pro/Engineer, finishing the flexible parametric design system for operator that can drive the parametrical model, cooperated with the generalized optimization system.Based on the parametrical models, establishing kinematics models and FEA (finite element analysis) models. They are expected to be used in kinematics emulate and finite element analysis. The thesis also gives recapitulation and summary of the using technique and development experience of Pro/E. It has value to be referenced in the coming correlation researching.
