For vector control of asynchronous motor, a novel rotor resistance identification method, based on extended Kalman filter (EKF), is proposed in this paper. By using the method, a simulation model is built using MATLAB/Simulink. Results of simulations show that the method is valid and feasible. At the same time, a novel stator and rotor resistance identification method under steady state is presented in this paper. Firstly, the stator and rotor resistances are identified on-line, and then the corresponding temperatures are calculated according to the principle that the metal resistance linearly depends on its temperature. Results of numerical simulations and experimental tests show that the method is valid and effective.
