The Research Of Integrated Network Management System And Application Development Of Fault Management Subsystem In INMS

Telecommunication network is made of multi-vendor equipments at present, which have their own network management systems developed according to different criterion. This status leads to not be able to intercommunicate between these systems, to manage telecommunication network integrally and to improve the quality of telecommunication services. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a kind of telecommunication Integrated Network Management System, which can accomplish integrated management and optimization for different special network management systems, and bring the network management function well into play. The integrated network management solution the thesis presents is to establish a superior Integrated Network Management System up to TMN standards upon these special network management subsystems to accomplish the intercommunication between them. This solution takes HP product OEMF (OpenView Element Management Framework) as its central part and at the same time integrates relevant software. The Chapter One of this thesis introduces the development status of the present telecommunication network management and the significance to develop the Integrated Network Management System. Chapter Two gives the basic theories about TMN. Chapter Three describes in detail the integrated network management solution and the essential functions it fulfills. Chapter Four presents Fault Management Subsystem developed by referring to the actual environment in WuXi Telecommunication Bureau. At the end of this thesis, the merits and problems being solved of this solution is provided.
