| Traffic Management and Road Safety is one of the component of the Project of Urumqi Transport System Improvement. The improvement of the signalized intersections is the very important content of this component. I expound my demonstration and evaluation on the subject of the improvement of the current signalized intersections in the five major chapters. I introduce the development of the signalized intersections control and the three advanced, Area Signal Control Systems, they are TRANSIT, SCOOT and SCATS. According to the situation analysis of the road network, motor vehicle possession capacity and so on, point out the current problems in Urumqi transport system. To counter the signalized intersections, using the Operation Analysis Method, I calculate the saturate capacity, critical v/c and the service level of the traffic lanes and the intersection. According to the overall analysis, the evaluation and the outcomes, I give my suggestions for the improvement of the intersections control. In the end, I ensure the necessity and the significance of the Inductor Area Signalized Intersection Contiol in the Project of Urumqi Transport System Improvement. |
