With the increasing of the energy consumption, the environmental issues of the coal-fired power plants, the ecological issues of hydropower plants, and the safety problems of the nuclear power plants force people to find new energies, which are not only of high energy efficiency, but also do not pollute the environment. Moreover, the development and utilization of renewable energy for solar energy, wind energy, and hydrogen energy have become an important way and measures to solve energy and environmental problems at home and abroad. Among them, due to overcoming the shortcoming of low reliability and the high cost, the solar and wind energy have good complementary in renewable energy applications. Therefore, the researches, development and utilization of solar energy, wind energy, and those power generation technology are of great theoretical significance and practical value.The main research work and achievements of this paper are as follows:First of all, the research status and prospects of wind and solar power generation system are reviewed, and the advantages and disadvantages of wind and solar power generation systems, significance and content of this subject have been elaborated. Second, if introduces in detail the overall structure, operation principle, and the main components and devices in a wind and solar power generation systems, including solar cells, wind turbines, batteries, solar controller, fan controllers and inverters. Third, the capacity of the major components and devices for the wind and solar power generation system using at home are calculated and designed. Fourth, according to the specific requirements of the electrical loads for family, the hardware circuit of the solar controller is designed, and a corresponding control software is programmed. Moreover, experimental studies have been carried out. The experimental results show that the design of the solar controller has better control effect on the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and output voltage characteristics. In addition, a MPPT algorithm of the improved interference observation method has been proposed, the simulation has been done using MATLAB/ SIMULINK model, which verifies the superiority of the algorithm, and improves the efficiency of the photovoltaic controller. Finally, The principle and performance of the fan controller in the wind and solar power generation system is introduced, and the hardware and software for the fan controller have been designed.
