Based on the white body of a certain type of off-road vehicle cab as the research object for lightweight design and research, and the main theoretical basis are the finite element method (fem) and topology optimization design method, by adopting the research methods for structure analysis and structure optimization of the white body, finally achieve the goal of lightweight design through the improvement of the structure of white body.By analyzing the structural features of the off-road vehicle cab, and refer to the finite element modeling requirements and principles, to establish high quality finite element model of the white body. Based on the white body model for simulation numerical analysis, and compare the numerical modal results with the modal test results, through correction of the model, get on the bridge structure which is similar to the actual structural model in structure characteristics and performance. Then, based on the finite element model of static analysis under the four typical working condition of bending, torsion, acceleration and speed turn, and to conduct single target topology optimization and combination conditions topology optimization which consider the effect of these load conditions in the working condition. Refer to the topology optimization results to improve the cab body-in-white structure, find the position of the beam which meet the corresponding requirement size, thus obtain the improved model which can be used to size optimization. Finally, refer to the topology optimal results to improve the white body model, based on the improved model for size optimization, which consider the effects of the above four working load conditions at the same time, to gain the best thickness of panel through the size optimization, and achieve the goal to reduce overall quality of the white body.By comparing the maximum stress and displacement results of the original and the optimized cab body-in-white in the above four load cases, and on the premise of guarantee overall stiffness performance, we can determine that the optimized cab body-in-white structure completed the goal of lightweight.
