Dynamics and fuel economy performance of an automobile is the most expectant performance for the customers, and the powertrain has the direct influence on it. Therefore, determining the parameter of the powertrain is an importantpart part of the design of an automobile.Combined with a technology-upgraded project of an off-road truck closely, this paper made a research on match of the powertrain system from the practical point of view.Firstly, for the evaluation index of dynamic and fuel economy performance, the existing simulation calculation was discussed and analyzed in theory.Secondly, on the basis of the theory, by means of analyzing the competing products, the evaluation index of dynamic, fuel economy and cruise performance was selected, then the target was determined.According to the actual situation of our company, the structure and parameters of the powertrain were determined soon.Finally, the dynamic, fuel economy and cruise performance of the model established by simulation software was simulated and analyzed. Based on the results of the performance test on road, the simulation result has been proved to be consistent with the test, verifying the correctness of the model and the simulation results.Last but not the least, after the analyzation of the preliminary scheme, the parameters of the powertrain system were optimized. Modifying the parameter of the model, the dynamic and fuel economy performance was simulated again. So was the road test.The results show that, after the optimization, the dynamic performance has been significantly improved, while the fuel economy performance is not affected obviously.
