With the increase of the automobile recoverable amount in the world, serious environmental pollution problems are coming on the way. Recently, all of the countries around the world invest more and more in the new energy vehicles, which are mainly the pure electric vehicles and the plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The pure electric vehicle is one of the best solutions to solve the shortage of the petroleum and the environmental pollution because of the zero pollution. At present, the development of the pure electric vehicle is limited because of the battery technology, charging station and driving range. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle not only can satisfy the zero pollution of the short-distance driving, but also will increase the pure electric driving range and not affect the demand of the long-distance travel.In the paper, the matching of the vehicle powertrain parameters is carried out based on the parallel plug-in hybrid electric vehicle and the AVL_cruise is used to simulate the model. The least vehicle energy consumption is selected as the starting point and the threshold control strategy and the real-time optimization are mixed together to realize the optimum control of the parallel plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. The main contents of the paper are the followingsThe selection of the power system and the parameter designing are carried out based on the performance index of the parallel plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, which are mainly the engine, the motor, the clutch, the transmission ratio and the power battery and so on. All of the dynamic models are constructed on the AVL-Cruise platform. The simulation of the power performance is carried out and the control strategy is analyzed in this paper.In this paper, the optimal equivalent fuel consumption of the parallel plug-in hybrid electric vehicle is selected as the starting point based on the merits and the drawbacks of the existing control strategy of the parallel plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. And the threshold control strategy and the real-time optimization are mixed together to realize the optimum control of the PHEV based on the merits and the drawbacks of the existing management strategies. The specific operation is divided into three steps. First, the threshold SOC of the CD-CS is optimized based on the genetic algorithm (GA). Second, the real-time optimization is used to distribute the power dynamically based on the objective function of the minimum equivalent fuel consumption. Third, the simulation is carried out based on the associated simulation platform of the Simulink and Cruise. The rationality of the optimization is verified. And the influence law of the proposed control strategy on the fuel economy of the parallel PHEV is obtained through these.
