With the development of the industrial age, industrial production and living is an increasing demanded for energy, natural gas has become one of the main energy. Pipeline is the main mode of gas transportation, natural gas pipeline increase rapidly by the increasing demanded for natural gas. Gas pipeline energy delivery bring convenient, at the same time also make the fuel gas accident frequency. With the continuous development of towns, building and people density increased dramatically, many buildings and structures that are just too close to gas pipeline, once the gas pipeline accident will cause huge losses. Fire and explosion are the main gas accident, therefore, the research of natural gas pipeline burning explosion accident harm scope, within the scope of different personnel and the harm of building structures is very necessary.Based on the urban natural gas pipeline as the research object, through extensive literature review to understand the theory of gas fire and explosion accident research methods and research status. Determine the pipeline under the condition of different pressure leakage jet fire and vapor cloud explosion hazard study, respectively to theoretical analysis of the harm, and using numerical simulation software simulation leakage jet fire hazard. Compared different jet fire and vapor cloud explosion theory analysis method, choosing THORNTON model analysis jet fire hazard, and choosing TNT model analysis the harm of vapor cloud explosion, and using dynamic simulation software FDS fire simulation analysis of the leakage jet fire hazards. Based on the analysis result, compared the same conditions of vapor cloud explosion hazard and jet fire hazard, the theory of jet fire results were compared with the simulation results Separately.Through the analysis, the damage radius of vapor cloud explosion and the theory of jet fire of urban natural gas pipeline small leakage holes under the conditions of different pressure, and jet fire hazard results has been concluded, including the radius and degree of harm to the harm of people and buildings Respectively. With the increasing of pressure, jet fire and vapor cloud explosion hazard scope increased, line pressure increased from 0.4 Mpa to 0.8 Mpa, the hazard range increasing rate is the largest, the main reason is that the pipeline leak hole size increased. Gas pipeline leakage jet fire heat radiation damage range is bigger than the damage range of vapor cloud explosion shock. With the increase of the pipeline pressure, the jet fire hazard theoretical research results and simulation results changing trend is consistently. There are some error between theoretical results and simulation results. The error is bigger when pipe pressure raised from 0.2 Mpa to 0.4 Mpa, but the error is relatively small, when pipe pressure raised from 0.8 Mpa to 4.0 Mpa.
