Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope(FAST) will be the world’s largest sing le-dish radio telescope after its completion. 4450 reflectors are used to reflect the radio wave t o a focusUnder the condition of large span, high suspension and multi-cross operation, hoistin g these reflectors to their position with exact measurement accuracy become a huge project,which have not seen before in the world. In this paper, new schemes and special instruments were introduced to meet the special requirements of FAST hoisting project. The design background and philosophy of cable crane, transfer engine, center beam, driving vehicle,load-bearing vehicle and some special slings in hoisting process were elaborated. And the detailed mechanical analysis and analog computation of design scheme were completed.On one hand this research has laid a solid foundation to the following construction of FAST, on the other hand it will also play a promoting role to the research of cable crane in China.
