Abstract/Summary:
When the foundation bearing capacity is not enough or foundation has deep groove,generallyplacing the pedestal at the bottom of the arch dam, so as to enhance the bearing capacity of foundation. Whereas the pedestal is only regarded as a part of the foundation, the influence what owing to the pedestal on the stress of the arch dam is ignored.This paper are conducted by the ANSYS finite element analysis software,whichcombined with the actual project analyzed the action of static cushion on the arch dam stress.The main contents about each chapter are as follow:Chapter one expatiates development situation about domestic and foreign of arch dam,characteristics of arch dam, method of stress analysis of arch dam and the purpose and meaning of the paper.Chapter two introduces the origin of the arch dam, basic theory of finite element method,calculating steps of finite element method, advantage of finite element method and its application in arch dam.Chapter threeintroduces the origin of the ANSYS finite element calculation software,common types of analysis and structure module in details.Chapter four is based on the ANSYS finite elementsoftware to the analysis of actual engineering, calculating the stress of arch dam under the normal water level condition and check flood level condition whether the pedestal is setting or not, and the stress of the condition changing the pedestal size.Chapter five summarizes the stress of arch dam whether the pedestal is setting or not, the effect of pedestal size on arch dam stress, and the prospect for the future.
