Across the world, the construction of landmark buildings is based on different features,including nation, geography, economy, customs, environment, the level of productivity, the material and cultural demand of people and the level of management. It is not only endowed with the connotation and brand of the times and famous as the calling card of the city, but also the center of absorbing investment, attracting visitors, and amusing the public who enjoy the consumption there.With the reform and open policy and the enhancing national strength, the vision of people is more open. Landmark buildings in our country emerge as the times require, which greatly inspires professional thinking of how to do well in the construction of landmark buildings according to the characteristics of the city and the needs of life.The article makes comprehensive consideration of how to construct commercial and cultural landmark buildings from the perspectives of economy, culture, environment and management and how to improve the radiation effects of these buildings. According to the understanding of landmarks,it attempts to explore the mechanism of radiation effects of these buildings which refer to the combined effect, the central place theory, growth pole theory and then combining the qualitative and quantitative analysis and evaluation of EFAHP, the Delphi method and questionnaire survey method to establish the evaluation model of radiation effect of landmark buildings.Meanwhile, on the basis of the current situation,the development and requirement of the times,the article makes the suggestions about faster and better construction of commercial and cultural landmark buildings which also try the best to provide beneficial reference about the development of landmark buildings to the same kind of cities from a limited view.On the research,the work of this artical is carried out from several aspects.First is analysis and comparison. This part analyzes the typical landmark buildings at home and abroad, and summarizes the similarities and differences of the landmark buildings between them. Second is to proposes the concept of radiation effects of landmark buildings which refers to the concept of economic radiation effects. And according to the combined effect, the central place theory and growth pole theory,it explains the mechanism of radiation effects of landmarks.Third is to establish the evaluation model of radiation effects of landmark buildings by EFAHP which is used to comfirm the indexes including economic benefit, regional culture, environment of the city, management of construction and other indexes belonged to the four layers. Fourth is to implement empirical research taking the Baoguang Temple in Xindu District of Chengdu as an example which is mainly studied by the quantitative model—evaluation of radiation effects and qualitative questionnaire investigation.It also selects the commercial landmark building called IFS as an objective of qualitative research.Fifth is to propose the suggestions about the development of landmark buildings from the aspects of economy, culture, environment and management. At last, the article forecasts the development trends of landmark buildings,including the development region, function, brand culture, energy conservation and environmental protection, property service and management etc.
