On the one hand, people start to save energy consumption, on the other hand, people are developing new technology to replace the existing energy consumption of technical problems. Currently, Energy research of HVAC systems has become an important issue. Combining with the characteristics of the climate in the area south of the Yangtze in China, A new type of heat exchange equipment — heat source tower of research are developed.First of all, this paper combines the current HVAC air conditioning system of several common field of cold and heat source schemes were compared with heat source tower, and briefly introduces the difference between the heat source tower and the cooling tower, and introduces the heat source tower and its system. Through the classification of heat source tower, focuses on the open type heat source tower in a cross flow heat source tower as an example, and introduces heat and mass exchange principle of tower and air change state of heat source tower in summer and winter. By studying the relevant aspects of its domestic and foreign scholars in the heat tower, combined with practical engineering applications and systems for heat tower technology, People can have a certain awareness of heat source tower.As the heat source tower is transformed from the cooling tower, to a certain extent, the heat source tower and the cooling tower are similar. Therefore, this paper bases on the research of cooling tower heat transfer performance, establish mathematical model and with a manufacturer of a square cross flow heat source tower as the research object. The Numerical simulation of heat and mass transfer process by using the DPM model in FLUENT software to open the cross flow heat source tower, and the simulation is divided into summer and winter condition. Through calculation several pictures about the distribution of parameters, such as air flow velocity vector, pressure, air temperature, water/Solution temperature, was drew.
