Based on the frost heaving damage factors of the irrigation ditch in the seasonal frozen soil areas the main research content. Summarizing the types of irrigation ditch frost heaving damage and analyzing the characteristics of destruction from freezing injury mechanism of the irrigation ditch, damage factor and frost heaving force three angles to analyze the frost heaving damage phenomenon. For freezing mechanism, concluding that the frost heave of irrigation ditch base soil is not only related to the initial frost heave water content, but also on a positive correlation with the amount of outside water supply and the irrigation ditch slope frost heaving damage is caused by the expansion volume of the base soil moisture content freezing. From the three aspects that soil, moisture content, temperature which caused the irrigation ditch frost heaving damage to analysis of its effect on frost heaving damage, make the analysis of the irrigation ditch trend and the impact of human factors on the frost heaving damage. It is concluded that the soil, moisture content, temperature are the three main factors which influencing the irrigation ditch frost heaving, and the different soil conditions show the different phenomenon of frost heaving, the moisture content is the most directive and the most important factor that cause the frost heaving, and the temperature changes also having a produce on the different degrees of impacts. Finally, from the irrigation ditch damage appearances on the force analysis of lining plate destruction. In addition, the paper describes some of the traditional method of irrigation ditch slope frost heave prevention technology, lists the currently some new technology application cases in the field of frost heave prevention and control of irrigation ditch slope in order to provide a detailed comprehensive reference for the prevention of irrigation ditch slope frost damage in the future.
