In recent years, the verification and calibration of the laser rangefinder has been gradually shift from outside to inside, the study of laboratory calibration became a focus of the verification of laser rangefinder. In accordance with the need of enterprise production, this paper applies barcode localization to indoor 60m long verification baseline for laser rangefinder.In this paper, the structure and operating principle of the baseline is being researched. On this basis, the fabrication of barcode staff and the system of barcode localization are discussed. This paper also studies the self-made barcode technology which uses subpixel edge detection algorithm to promote the resolution power to 0.1 pixels after smoothing and enhancing the image. According to the hardware circuit of the barcode localization system, the software is written. Then, we do some experiments to verify the barcode localization system. The result shows that the degree of reproducibility is 0.2μm and the degree of stability is 0.3μm. Besides, we successfully improved its accuracy from ±100μm to ±1.5μm.The successful operation of the baseline indicates that the laser rangefinder which uses the barcode staff fully meets the demands of the enterprise. The barcode localization technology with low cost, miniaturization, integration, micro-power, can be extended to mapping, CNC machine, measuring tools and other fields. It has a broad prospect in application.
