Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), a kind of green power source, will be widely used in the future. PEMFC has been used on land. If it is used in the submarine, it can increase the endurance time of the submarine under water obviously and make the submarine quiet. Mean while PEMFC has low noise. The fuel of Fuel cell is hydrogen,so it can reduce marine fossil energy source demand and pollution. But almost no fuel cell is used in a boat in our country. It is different between FEMFC used on land and in a boat. Therefore, it is necessary for researching fuel cell used in ship, especially in the submarine.After optimizing the steady-state model, calculating and analyzing the influence factors of PEMFC for choosing the correct range of input factors. Then the project of PEMFC power system was designed for ship. According to the need for increasing endurance distance underwater and characteristic of using in the submarine, designing the project of 200KW hydrogen-oxygen PEMFC power system. It can increase the endurance time of submarine to 2 weeks underwater, when the PEMFC works with the full power. Then the project of PEMFC power system's arrangement in the submarine was designed for the first time in our country. A project of 15KW hydrogen-air power system which can be used as the accessorial power plant was designed, basing on the status of PEMFC and power demand of vessel above water. It will provide reference to the use of PEMFC for ship.It is the first time in our country to try to project PEMFC power system aboard the ship, especially the application project design and arrangement in the submarine. It will make great effect in enhancing the endurance of submarine and promoting green power source aboard the ship. It makes foundation of developing PEMFC power system aboard the ship for the future.
