Urban complex has become gradually an important development direction in contemporary real estate fields; with the proliferation of social materialism, the demands of commercial space have relatively been improved, not only in material needs and also in psychological needs. Atmosphere, means'shrouding in ambiences and emotions around the environments'. In term of urban space, the atmosphere in this paper serves to some collective shared emotions which are based on psychological feelings of the public in some special urban environments. As a spirit of place, it poses to the psychological perception of the public. The perspective of atmosphere is an important breakthrough point of researching on urban complex commercial space. Based on survey, it is not difficult to find a universal phenomenon of'Lacking of cultural atmosphere and not sufficient in leisure atmosphere and commercial atmosphere'in numerous commercial space. The strategy of commercial space design on urban complex has been nowadays in a deficient situation, especially focusing on the cultural facilities.This paper is constituted by four parts, including six chapters.The first part is the first chapter which mainly raises questions; a brief illustration of content of research, basic conception and relevant basic theories.The second part is the second and third chapters which mainly analyze questions; the former analyzes the basic questions in the atmosphere of urban commercial complex, emphasizing on the characteristics and influences; the latter analyzes the influencing factors including behavioral psychophysics, urban perspective, space environment and plan operation, which space environment is the catalyst of atmosphere and the key of space design.The third part is the fourth and fifth chapters which mainly solve questions; based on the analysis above, the fourth chapter focuses on the space design method from the perspective of atmosphere; the fifth chapter focuses on the case study on home and abroad from the same perspective.The fourth part is the sixth chapter which mainly sums up the synopsis about it.
