Closure grouting problem about high arch dams is an important issue in dam engineering. With the Little Bay, Jinping, Xiluodu and other 300m high arch dams have begun. There is a generally existed problem in high arch dam construction that is reservoir impoundment and power generation in advance, around the reservoir impoundment and power generation in advance, it brings some problems such as optimization of joint closure temperature field in stages,simulating and implementing the controlling of optimum joint closure temperature field and some regular changes between water level of upstream dam in construction and the transverse Joint aperture of arch dam, these problems is an important technical issues in the economic security of construction in high arch dam. Therefore, combining Jinping arch dam practical project, this article researched three actual problem in the gemel arch grouting of high arch dam and obtained some significant results for practical project. And it covered some contents as following,(1) The results show that it can reduce the stress of temperature- load on the adverse effects of the dam effectively with multi-objective nonlinear optimization method to adjust the temperature field of arch dam arch closure.(2) The idea of Non-isothermal gemel arch is proposed that changing the cooling pipe layout and direction of the water which can make the dam upstream and downstream has a certain temperature gradient to get the optimal arch closure temperature field.(3) Improved the calculation method for cooling with water cooling tube and simplify the the difficulties of meshing for cooling water pipe in simulation analysis; used the temperature simulation to get the optimal arch closure temperature field based on Jinping hydropower station.(4) The selection of the transverse element thickness and elastic modulus reduction factor were calculated and analyzed,and gave some advices about the opening extent of transverse calculation of element thickness and elastic modulus reduction factor to apply in Jinping arch dam..(5) Importing transverse element,the reservoir water lever and the opening extent of transverse of jingping arch dam when it sluiced ahead of schedule were researched. And this research provided important reference for design.
