As economic improved continually in China, hotel industry increased year by year in the last decade. Energy consumption of the hotel building is also growing, energy cost of some hotel buildings account for 10% to 15% to the annual operating income, according to incomplete statistics. Hot water system is an important facility of the hotel, the quality of hot water directly affect on guest satisfaction, and is one of the hallmarks of service quality. Although solar hot water industry has formed a relatively complete allocation system, study on application of SHWS (Solar Hot Water System) in one hotel and its evaluation remains to be further studied. This paper studied the features of hot water system in the hotel building, introduced common form and classification of SHWS, analyzed the elements of energy and economic of the hotel SHWS, and presented the evaluation process and method of SHWS.Then, a 3-star hotel in Beijing was taken for study, which is representative on use laws and scale of domestic hot water , a solar hot water system was designed for the hotel based on relevant specifications, so as to follow-up simulation and laid the foundation for comparative study.Based on universally recognized solar collector system analysis software, TRNSYS (Transient System Simulation), a simulation model of forced circulation separated type SWHS was established. The whole-year transient performance of SWHS were studied , which gives the monthly characteristics such as collector efficiency, auxiliary heater consumption, inlet water temperature, pump consumption, solar guaranteed rate. On this basis, Different factors such as the type of solar collector, collector inlet water temperature, tank capacity and auxiliary heater, which have big influence on economy, energy efficiency and environmental benefits of SWHS, were studied. Finally on this basis, proposed some suggestions for system improvement.These research results provide strong technical support for the same type of SWHS design in Beijing, but also provide a useful reference for the application of SHWS in other areas.
