Recent years, the use of renewable energy has been growing year after year,especially , the wind power is developing more quikly with the advantages of environment friendly an general. Because there is more wind resourse in the pastoral areas on the greenland and the coastal ialands where power grid can not reach, the wind power have well sovled the problem that the residents have no electricity to use for production and living,and taken good ecconsomic effects and social effects. In this paper,some problems of patical application are sovled based on studying the PMSG body.Firstly, the design features of PMSG are analyzed, and the generrator specifications are given .The cogging torque is analyzed according to the specificatons which have been given; The pole-slot match and the main structure are chosen. Having been considered both the performance and the cost, the materials of the generator is chosen,a of the generator is done using magnetic circuit methodpreliminarydesign .Secondly, a 2D simulation model is created according to the preliminarey design. Considering the flux density of PMSG, a method of limiting the output power raising is researched when the wind speed is too fast.Then, the calculation methods of temperature field are analyzed base on the optimization model. The calculation and equivalent method of some parameters are gained. Moreover, the temperature field distribution in PMSG is researched impressing on solidworks and ansys.At last, the experiments of the prototype are done, and the experimental data are analyzed. What's more is that the theoretical analysis is tested and verified by experiment result. Basing on the experiments of the prototype, the dimension of the generator is optimized to get close to the design goal.
