The automatic transmission is an important component of the modern passenger vehicle, and its (the automatic transmission) test platform is an effective installment to verifying the performances of the passenger vehicle. The electrical motor has many advantages (merits), such as the low noise, the low pollution, easy to control. The replacement of the engine with this device to supply the power for the automatic transmission test platform possesses a very strong practical significance. This paper presents a program to provide power source for the test platform through the simulation analysis with MATLAB software.In this topic, the asynchronous motor is chosen to be as a driving device, and the contrastive analysis of characteristics in detail for both engine and electrical motor has been made, and the feasibility of the electrical motor as the power supply for the test platform has also been explained. In this paper, MATLAB/SIMULINK be used to build up simulation model for the velocity modulation control of the electrical motor, and the analysis on the simulation curve be carried out, and the model be perfected to enable the electrical motor to satisfy the specific request on the simulating torque and rotational speed. The design principle of the speed increaser of electrical motor be based on the simulation result, and enabling its rotational speed to approach the engine speed. Theoretically and generally, as our aim, the characteristics of torque and rotational speed of electrical motor's to meet the performance requirements to simulating engine has been reached.The multiple simulation experiments indicated that, as the power supply for the automatic transmission test platform, the vector controlled asynchronous machine has a better function to simulate the engine performance, and can provide essential condition for accurate test of all performances of transmission gearbox's. It is an ideal choice for its advantages of reducing the noise and emissions.
