Since the 1960's, the technique of structural simulation has become the essential instrument in the industries of aviation, aerospace, automobile, civil engineer and so on. However, in most case, feature such as modal and shock response obtained with FEA does't fit with those obtained with experiments. Because of limitation of model updating, even though we modify the model by existing method of model updating, we certainly will get a right prediction to the behavior of the structure. Model validation is method to updating model on evaluating and validating how close the currently model is to the right structure within the ares, and to predict right response feature of structure before environmental tes. For this reason, this paper deals with the dynamic model validation and several key problems. The content is as follow.Study is conducted on general strategy for model validation which includes the the follow problem: An experiment design based method for constructing the global approximate function, model updating based on the global approximate function and genetic algorithm, evaluating criterion and validating criterion for response feature.Methods based on experiment design for constructing the global approximate function is investigated and compared, and the proposed method to improve experiment design which is superior by the numerical example.Equivalent simulation to the connection of structure parts and the boundary conditions, which parameterize the uncertainty, is presented, and parametric identification by model updating based on global approximate function and genetic algorithm is utilized.In order to provide the strategy of establishing an accurate model, model validation is applied to two engineering case, at the same time, classified model validation which is proposed.Evaluating criterion and validating criterion of response feature of time domain is presented for dealing with problem in the simulation of structure impact.
