The manufacturing of ship outfitting interim products plays an important role in the whole process of shipbuilding. It's meaningful for shipbuilding enterprises to improve the manufacturing capability and efficiency of outfitting interim products in order to shorten the shipbuilding cycle and improve the manufacturing level. The method of simulation and optimization based on TOC of outfitting interim product discrete production system was proposed, according to the complexity of the outfitting product manufacturing and the problems such as unreasonable resource distribution and bottlenecks difficult to identify. The bottlenecks were identified from the point of view of system and the solutions were put forward, to support the production decision. The method integrated of TOC and simulation technique to identify and solve bottlenecks in the discrete product system of ship outfitting interim product was proposed, based on analyzing relevant research results at home and abroad. The content of this paper mainly referred to the research on the discrete production system of ship outfitting interim product, the simulation optimization method based on TOC and case study.In the study of the discrete production system of ship outfitting interim product, the production characteristics and problems were analyzed,the optimizing steps based on TOC and the methods to identify bottlenecks and the view to solve bottlenecks through DBR system were put forward. At last, the related theory about modeling of discrete production system was analyzed.In the study of the simulation optimization method based on TOC, the methods of DBR model structuring and optimization of the discrete production system of outfitting interim product was proposed. It's a"hierarchy logistics"analysis method, including identifying bottlenecks from outside in and top to bottom, as well as solving bottlenecks from inside out and bottom to top. The method of simulation date collection and processing and simulation modeling steps were analyzed. The simulation results were analyzed from resources utilization, WIP, queue length and waiting time.In the case study, the"second-class logistics"diagram of pipe manufacturing production system was built based on the background of CD shipbuilding corporation, while simulation model for interim product manufacturing process was constructed by Arena; according to a multi-perspective analysis of simulation, polishing and assembling were recognized as the bottlenecks of the whole process; finally, based on TOC and DBR, the solutions were proposed from the perspective of increasing resource quantity, relocating resource and improving work efficiency. By the comparative analysis of simulation to improve the effectiveness of this method, those three solutions mentioned above were demonstrated to balance unit capacity and improve the production ability.The results of this paper can provide good ideas and solutions for the optimizing of the discrete production system of outfitting interim products. It's also useful for other similar production systems.
