With the reforming and opening of our country, the contradiction between economic development, environmental protection, and resource consumption is becoming more and more prominent and the development of economical building materials, the development of recycling economy, protecting the ecological environment and taking the sustainable development road are the trends of the construction industry.The non-metal Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are structural sandwich panels consisting of a foam plastic insulation core securely bonded between two structural facings made of the wheat/rice straw particleboard or Oriented Strand board other than metal surfaces. Using the wheat/rice straw particleboard and Oriented Strand board for the surface material to replace the domestic commonly used metal surface, can save energy, reduce the consumption of metal, reduce carbon emissions and develop the recycling economy. At the same time, the non-metal Structural Insulated Panels have some advantage: excellent structure performance, installed convenient, comfortable and healthy and so on, it's recognized as the 21st century's environmental building materials. The non-metal Structural Insulated Panels developed very well in aboard but backward in our country.The paper taken OSB and the wheat/rice straw particleboard as the surface material, and systematically analyze the mechanical properties of SIPs using vacuum and got the load-deflection curve of Structural Insulated Panels under uniformly distributed load; simulated the experiments using ABAQUS finite element software and got the must parameters of material properties; got the deflection formula with considering the influence of the local stiffness of the faces through theoretical analysis and improved the formula further for the practical engineering.
