In this paper, multiple electromagnetic field model in the cold crucible is build and calculated with the model of Large Finite Element Ansys Software , and water cold crucible which has arc slots is made by the better design. Electromagnetic field are measured through the method of small coil without load for different position, power and coil turns, and the results show that magnetic intensity is higher in the coil than in other place, and the maximum value appears in the middle of the coil, then attenuates towarding both sides, but attenuats slowly towardting the top and attenuats quickly towarding the bottom. Magnetic intensity increases with the increasing of power, the increasing degree becomes largger as it closing to the middle of the coil. Magnetic intensity is different at different radius for the slit and the segment, and magnetic intensity decreases with the position from slit to the segment, the results of calculation are in good agreement with that of measurement.Based on the direct finite difference method, a numerical model is developed to simulate the process of cold crucible electromagnetic continuous casting , and the temperature field of alnico alloy under cold crucible electromagnetic continuous casting is computed. The temperature distribution of the alnico alloy during shaping as well as the relation of shape of the solid-liquid interface and the pulling velocity is obtained. The results show that under 9mm/min and 50kW conditions, the temperature field is relatively stable during the continuous melting,.Continuous melting and directional solidification of Alnico alloys (LNG37) by cold crucible is experimental investgated, and different casting defects are diminished. the microstructure of the directionally solidified Alnico was observed,and find outαγphase decreased obviously.
