This work is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, National S&T Major Project, and aircraft manufacturing corporation. In the view of difficulty points for multiple number and type of the aircraft structural parts Rib features, complex process, NC programming is inefficient, inconsistent quality, the rapid NC programing technology of aircraft structural parts Rib feature are deeply studied. The main fruits of this paper are as follows:1) The method for Rib feature recognition base on graph and process knowledge was presented. According to the process knowledge and programming experience, the Rib machining features of aircraft structural parts are defined and classified. Integrate the process knowledge into the Graph-based recognition method as a supplementary means of recognition, handling multiple interpretations of the feature, intersection feature and the combination of Rib feature. At last, It realizes Rib machining features automatic recognition.2) Summarized the NC programming technology of the Aircraft structural parts Rib feature. The characteristics and difficulty of NC machining of aircraft structural parts Rib feature were analyzed, contrapose the NC machining characteristics of the Constraint, top and side face of Rib feature, the NC programming process of aircraft structural parts Rib feature is summarized, laid the foundation for the automatic NC programming of Rib feature.3) The rapid NC programming technology of Rib feature was studied. The requirements for driving information from rapid NC programming of Rib feature was summarized, the automatic NC programming algorithm process of Rib feature was given. Analysis the reconstruction mode of Constraint, top and side face of Rib, The reconstruction method of typical Rib feature was proposed. At last, automatic NC programming of aircraft structural parts Rib feature is realized.4) The system about rapid NC programming of aircraft structural parts Rib feature is developed, which is applied to an aircraft manufacturing corporation and has been proved effective.
