| The stand or fall of automobile manipulation stability is very important to driving safety. The purpose of studying on vehicle steering stability is to improve vehicle's performance and to prevent the occurrence of traffic accidents. Real automobile test and virtual test are the two kinds of method that usually be used for steering stability study. The traditional manipulation stability research needs to pass a repeatedly process:design—prototype test—problem feedback—design scheme adjusting—prototype, and the test cycle is long and costly. Virtual test can be conducted in computer to do the experiment and predict vehicle's performance before the actual prototype test, and put forward the improvement plan in order to improve the design quality and to quicken the design speed. Virtual experiment has the advantages of lower cost, shorter cycle, smaller risk and higher repeatability.This paper studies on desighing a virtual test system of vehicle's steering stability, which can discovery the problems existed in vehicle design timely and improve its performance, in order to shorten the development cycle and to save actual cost. The main contents are as follows:1. The present research status and research method of the vehicle steering stability are discussed. A dynamic vehicle model which is applicable to the analysis of the vehicle steering stability is structured, and the solution to the dynamic differential equations is given.2. The current evaluation system of the vehicle steering stability is studied, and the virtual test plan for vehicle steering stability is designed. An objective evaluation method for virtual experiment of vehicle steering stability is put forward.A virtual experiment system for the vehicle steering stability is developed with Visual C++6.0 as platform. According to relevant provision of GB/T 1332-1991《Trucks—Engineering approval evaluation program》, some virtual tests of vehicle's steering stability such as steering wheel angle step input, steering wheel angle pulse input and steady static circular test are performed on an freight vehicle. The test result is analysised and the performance of vehicle steering stability is evaluated. |
