Matrix converter (MC) is a new type of AC-AC power converter, compared to conventional converters:1) The output voltage amplitude, frequency, and power factor of network side are controlled independently; 2) Provide sinusoidal output voltage and sinusoidal input current; 3) Input current can be adjusted to advance, delay or phase in the input voltage; 4) Achieve AC-AC direct conversion, without intermediate DC link, energy can flow in both directions. In view of these advantages, great value and broad application prospects can be gained in the practical application of double-fed speed and wind turbines.Based on the analysis of various matrix converter control algorithms,ADRC control technology of matrix converter is proposed and researched. Refering to the non-linearity and strong coupling characteristics of Matrix Converter, based on the analysis of open-loop modle of Matrix Converter based on double space modulation strategy, a voltage closed-loop model of Matrix Converter based on auto-disturbance rejection control(ADRC) in d-q coordinate system is proposed.Output three-phase voltage of control system is detected firstly,d-axis and q-axis voltages are gained in d-q frame via Park transformation,ADRC controllers are applied, and then three-phase voltage gained via Park inverse transformation is applied to the virtual inverter of double space vector modulation strategy, voltage closed-loop control is achieved Simulation results show that the controller has good dynamic,static and robustness performances.For further study of the principles of matrix converter, the laboratory produced a prototype of a matrix converter.Further research and analysis of the structure of matrix converter theory,the system open-loop and closed-loop simulation,hardware design,and software programming work of Venturini and double voltage modulation strategy was conducted with the prototype, and related experimental work followed up was carried out to further verify the correctness of the matrix converter design,and thus the practical application of the matrix converter has been laid a solid foundation to some extent.The research work has been supported by the important research projects funded by national natural science foundation of China (60534040) and Guangdong science grant(200911050400053, IDSYS200701).
