Research On Space Model Of Seaside Resort Hotel Design

As a new type of building, tropical marina resort hotel has become increasingly popular and accessible under the support of advanced transportation system and improved life quality, and its spatial design is gradually paid much more attention. From the point of view of space, this thesis will analyze and summarize its composition and characteristics through focusing on both the realized projects and theoretical research, particularly the international resort hotels.For its distinctive tropical climate and unique sea views, resort hotel in this region tends to be remarkably different and specific. This research project attempts to summarize the spatial elements and their development on the whole and the essence of space. Then it tries to analyze external spatial environment by focusing on the site planning and single architectural plan. It argues that the design of resort hotel emphasize not only its own identity but the relationship between building and landscape and natural seascape, in order to shape a harmony atmosphere.The relatively complex interior space will be divided into four parts including public space, guest rooms, background services and circulation. These independent spaces with specific attributes are closely articulated in order to offer an efficient operation. The thesis will summarize and refine the essential formal characteristics of functional space while paying attention to the relationship between building and climate and nature. It attempts to stress the sustainable design through using natural ventilation and reducing energy consumption in order to create comfortable space for people.It is surely understandable that the spatial development of resort hotel will be more diversified and personalized with the rising up of peoples'demand and broadening of people's horizon. This will constantly challenge the limits of space, not only the limitation of building, but of people's ideals...
