More and more attention is paid to Electrical Power Steering System because of the significantly advantages and increasingly impact. Electrical Power Steering (EPS) is a kind of new motor driven steering technology, which is the typical power steering implement of the vehicle. It has a series of attractively characteristics such as saving fuel, reducing overall weight, improving driving security and producing less pollution.EPS plays an important role in modern vehicle, so its stability and reliability must be ensured. In view of this, the purpose of this paper is to develop The Auto EPS Synthesize Function Experiment Machine which could detect the performance of EPS by a number of relevant experiments. In this process, firstly, it is necessary to come up with the overall functional requirements, the structural design principles as well as the possible required function modules of the machine. Secondly, the overall structure of the machine and the layout scheme are formulated by the argumentation of design ideas and development method. Finally, it is important to design or select the relevant function modules in detail, such as selecting required motors and sensors, designing steering shaft, simulation steering wheel, reducer, tooling jigs and so on.As a platform, this machine could do a series of required experiments and then generate data and corresponding forms which could detect the EPS's performance directly. Therefore, this way can reduce the cost and risk of real vehicle test effectively. Meanwhile, it also can shorten the development cycle in business. The experimental results show that this machine could satisfies various conditions and requirements and it has good stability and reliability, which is this paper's expected purpose.This paper's context could be summarized as the following. Firstly the paper states structural design principles and constitution of the equipment, especially focus on the design ideas. After that it accounts for the development methods and scheme comparison, thereby gives the overall structure.Then it gives every components of the device according to modular design principle, such as motor, sensor, steering shaft, reducer, tooling jig and so on.Finally it gives conclusion for all the research working, as well as some suggestions for the future development direction of the equipment.
