To meet the demand for the highly intensified diesel engine of the fourth generation of tanks, United States, Germany and other countries are actively developing the highly intensified diesel engine which can adapt to the forth generation of tanks. Especiaily the emergence of HPD engine have had a very significant impact on main battle tanks for the future. At present, China also do a lot of research in the field of highly intensified diesel Engine. In this paper, we take a foreign highly intensified diesel engine as the target engine eand establish the working process simulation model for diesel engine. Than researched the performance of the diesel engine and analysied the key technologies of this engine. Finally optimize the key parameters for diesel engine.At first, the engine's entire work process is divided into several independent physical models. And describe them with mathematical methods.Using AVL BOOST software to establish the simulation model of the highly intensified diesel engine, AVL MCC model combustion mechanism to describe the work process on the cylinder. Comparison the simulation results with the main perfoemance of the foreign highly intensified diesel engine. The results show that the errors between the simulation results and the perfoemance are very small.On this basis, simulate the simulation model on the declared working condition and predict the main perfoemance. Accounding the simulation, get the engine cylinder pressure, temperature, heat release rate and other parameters change in relationship with the crank angle. After making sure the parameters on the degree of enhancement, research the operating parameters and structural parameters of this engine. Analysis the exhaust system, fuel injection systems, compression ratio, intake parameters and speed on the performance of diesel engine.Than to meet the high-speed, high average effective pressure requirements of the highly intensified diesel engine. We should improve the pressure ratio, choose the appropriate valve timing and take multi-valve technology. In addition, determineto use the technology of VGT and VVT on this engine. Accounding the simulation, analysis the influences of the vane position on the performance of diesel engine. And get the MAP of vane position in all operating conditions. Based on the optimization of valve timing on different speed, we can decide VVT design.At last using MATLAB,C to optimize structural parameters and the operating parameters.The target is to get the max power. Respectively optimize injection timing and compression ratio, valve timing, intake manifold diameter and intake pipe diameter, exhaust manifold diameter and exhaust pipe diameter. The results show that after optimization, the engine power can be further raised. The maximum explosion pressure has decreased to some extent.
