Steel structure is a line with "green building" features of the structure. Many achievements have made in the research and application of structure steel since almost one hundred years ago. With the development of steel application technology,21st century will be the steel structure housing rising and development of the century. Although the steel structure housing in our country has developed to some extent, there is few research about the issues of the infilled wall affecting the seismic behavior in the steel frame construction, and many problems remain to be solved in these aspects. So researching on the seismic behavior of steel frame with infilled wall and failure mechanism possesses important theoretic and engineering value.GRC lath, is made of alkali-resistant glass fiber as reinforced material, and sulphoaluminate cement mortar as a base material. It is made of light strip park board that has several holes, extensive use of fly ash, slag and other industrial wastes as the main filler, especially, it can play an important role in the utilization of waste, development of circular economy, energy saving and environmental protection. GRC lath has many features such as good structure, high strength, thermal insulation, sound insulation, contraction of small, non-absorbent, non-deformation, fireproofing etc. Also it has good processability such as easy cutting, sawing, nailing, drilling and bonding etc, besides, installation and construction easily, dry operation, no pollution and high efficiency. With the using of the steel frame, not only it can decrease the weight of the structure, but also can reduce the secondary disasters which caused by the non-structural elements after the earthquake. In this paper, the tests of three steel frames with and without GRC lath under low-cycle loading are introduced. There are three aspects as below on the problems of this subject:1.Three 1:4-scale specimens are tested on their behavior under cycle loading. The first speciment is ordinary steel frame, the second one is the steel frame with GRC lath which was exerted 100kN axial pressure. The third one is the steel frame with GRC lath which was exerted 200kN axial pressure. The properties of the specimens, such as hysteresis loops, skeleton curve, ducfility, energy dissipation, deformation capacity and strength, rigidity degeneration were gained in the test and compared with ordinary steel frame.2.0n the basis of the experimental research, using the static and nonlinear analytic function of finite element analysis software-ANSYS, steel frames with GRC infilled wall are analyzed. Also and simulate the test model under low-reversed cyclic loading. The results of finite element anasysis are fit close to that of the test. So the finite element analysis method's correctness is validated.3. And then, a series of parametric study are followed by using nonlinear finite element method, the parametric include axial compression ratio, panel ratio and frame-to-panel interface friction. It drawn some valuable conclusions and it is also valuable to direct practical engineering design. Some problems about this research worth to be studied afterward are put up in the end of the paper.
