| The Yellow River Water Supply Project in Alashan, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was investigated in this paper. The water resource in this project comes from The Yellow River. The commonly used water purification technologies at home and abroad were compared in this paper. For the high turbidity water that represented by the Yellow River, the purification process:Advection sedimentation tank+mechanical accelerated clarifier was determined to be used in this project. Advection sedimentation tank to be known as simple in structure, low operation cost, and can be used as adjustment pool simultaneously. The mechanical accelerated clarifier combined sedimentation, mixing, clarification in one structure. This bring many advantages such as less capital investment, simpler process, smaller size, and lower operation cost than conventional water treatment process. In addition, a number of projects along the Yellow River proved that this process is feasible, economical and reliable to treat high turbidity water. The design part of this thesis was conducted through referring the design manual and the operating status of the in built project and combined with surveying the water inlet and outlet conditions. The design focused on how to get the most reasonable parameters and how to calculate the structure and the size of the mechanical accelerated clarifier, which can meet the operational requirements and keep at low capital investment and operational cost simultaneously. |
